Chuseok holiday is a major harvest festival and three-day holiday in Korea celebrated on the 15th day of the 8th month of the lunar calendar on the full moon. It is one of the most important holidays in the Korean calendar, and is comparable to Thanksgiving in the United States. Families gather to share a feast of traditional Korean foods such as songpyeon (송편), a rice cake filled with sweet beans or other fillings, as well as rice wine and freshly harvested fruits and vegetables. Games and folk dances are also part of the festivities.
