The United flight change policy says that you can select from multiple options for

changing an existing travel booking which includes a refund request, switching to a

different change united flight that will be departing within the next three hours as you booked it or completely changing your reservation's date or time. There may be a fee related to the change you want to make in accordance with your ticket type and method which you used to purchase the ticket.
